Love Your Door Again

Glass Insert Guys

Maybe your front door is solid, hangs well and still has years left in it, but it’s plain, dark, or just not your style anymore. Replacing the whole door is a big project, and a lot of the time it isn’t needed. Our custom glass door inserts go into the door you already own. You get natural light in the entry and a boost in curb appeal, without starting over.

It isn’t only front door glass inserts, either. Homeowners across Florida call us about garage doors, the cabana or pool-bath door out back, side and service doors, and patio doors too. You choose the glass size, the design, the privacy level and the metal finish, and we cut your door to fit the glass. Install day is one appointment, usually 1–2 hours long.

Curious what your door could look like? Call (866) 326-9947 or ask for a free estimate, and we’ll look at your door and help you narrow down the options.

What custom glass door inserts actually are

A glass door insert is a framed glass panel set into an opening we cut in your existing door. The frame clamps in from both sides, so the result looks like the glass came with the door from the factory. In most cases you keep the door, the hinges, the lockset and the paint color you already like.

Inserts come in a range of sizes and designs, and we’ll help you choose one that suits your door before we cut the opening to fit. That variety is why custom glass door inserts look at home on an older ranch house, a brand-new build or anything in between. Door glass replacement works the same way. If your door already has glass that’s fogged, cracked or dated, we fit a new insert and you keep the door. Most exterior doors can take one, and we’ll confirm yours during a free estimate.

Garage, cabana and side doors deserve glass too

Entry door inserts get most of the attention, but plenty of Florida homes have a dark spot somewhere else. A solid side door to the yard can leave a garage or workshop feeling like a cave. A cabana or pool-bath door often needs light and privacy at the same time, since people are changing on the other side. We go into more detail on garage door glass inserts and cabana door glass inserts if you’d like to read up.

Side and service doors, patio doors and back doors are all fair game as well. Want to brighten a back entry, or just see who’s at the back gate? Adding glass to a door you already own is usually the simpler route.

Choosing your glass, privacy and finish

This is the fun part. Start with how much you want to see through the glass. Then pick a style, and finally a finish for the metal caming that holds the decorative pieces together.

  • Decorative glass inserts: bevels and textures set in metal caming, from simple geometric patterns to more detailed designs.
  • Privacy and textured glass: four privacy levels, from Low up to Max, so the glass suits the room behind it.
  • Clear and Low-E glass: for an open view, with optional grilles between the glass for a classic divided-light look.
  • Enclosed blinds: blinds sealed between the panes. They’re cordless, and there’s nothing to dust.
  • Impact-rated designs: lots of styles are offered impact-rated, so impact glass can still be decorative. A rating applies to the full tested assembly of glass, frame and door, and we’ll help you choose.
  • Gray “turtle glass”: a gray, tinted glass that helps soften glare on doors facing strong afternoon sun or the water.

The metal caming comes in patina, oil-rubbed bronze, black chrome, satin or platinum nickel, a wrought-iron look, black or silver aluminum, and brass with select designs. Matching the caming to your door hardware or light fixtures pulls the whole entry together. Want to see the patterns before we visit? Browse the designs in our catalog.

What install day looks like

Once your custom glass insert is ready, we schedule one visit. The work usually runs about 1–2 hours, and in most cases the door stays hung while we fit the glass. Your trim stays put, and nothing needs repainting when we leave.

We keep the space around your door protected and tidy it before heading out, so you’re not left with a mess to sweep up in the foyer. When we’re done, you’ve got a working door with new glass, and you can get on with your day. For every step in order, see how our process works.

Why keeping your door often makes sense

If your door is in good shape, replacing it means a new slab, frame work, paint and often new hardware. Adding glass to the door you have skips most of that. The door that already fits your opening, latches well and matches your house stays right where it is.

It’s also a smaller decision to live with. Whether you’ve owned your home for decades or just closed on a new construction home with a builder-grade door, an insert changes the look and the light. Everything else stays put. Homeowners in 55+ communities often like that it’s one short install visit, and it’s easy to check your community’s guidelines before you choose.
